When history of the entire Western region and the Nation’s academia will be revised, the name of Bungoma DEB Principal Tobias Khisa popularly known as TKK will seldom miss.
Having been an alumnus of a sister school Moi Bungoma DEB just a stone throw away that was way ahead in all dimensions then,I must attest to the fact that the tremendous transformation of Bungoma DEB School to eclipse nearly all county schools in both infrastructural strides and academics elevates the Principal’s unrelenting input that is beyond comparison.

When one asks why parents would prefer recommending Bungoma DEB school to other schools, the response is as good as my guess that the industrious audacity of this Principal in putting together a team of teachers , building cohesiveness and holding them responsible and accountable for student’s achievement, could be the academic aroma behind their urge.

Am informed that he is the school Ninja who is always there (Present); he walks in and out of classrooms and you never hear him coming.

The former St. Anthony High School alumnus is described by the school fraternity as Kind and firm, supportive to teachers in public but a reprimanding administrator in private .
Those versed with how he operates to gain a consistent excellence at Bungoma DEB and draw attention from other schools outside the County, say the school prides on his innovativeness,Compassion, respect and visionary traits.Tobias Khisa has his pendulum of success at Bungoma DEB school described in plural and for once you may be forgiven to think he is the interim Education officer at the National Ministry of Education in the manner he is quite informed with transcending within the Education circle.

Asked what could be his secret niche in realizing excellence; Mr.Khisa attributed to team work; he is always seeking rather than commanding teachers “what can we do together to improve our school, our classrooms, and our students learning?”. He is quick to point out what detriments students by saying;” we are encouraged to ask not ,”, how can I stop this student from causing so many problems?”but rather ,”what can I do to help this pupil to overcome difficulties”? The focus is always to students and how they can do as professionals to put heads together in making the difference in their lives.

The Ministry of Education must be proud of its Principal Tobias Khisa whose example other Academicians should emulate.
