Bungoma County Public Service Board Chairman Mr. Jonathan Namulala, has come out guns blazing in self defense over allegations that he presided over a recruitment process ridden by corruption and irregularities. He went ahead to indicate that he knows the building he is falsely being associated with but does not own it and will therefore “fight” anyone out to unfairly malign his name.

Activists Juma Lubakaya and Moses Juma Sikuta on 8th Jan 2025 while addressing the press, insinuated that Namulala and his colleagues did employ outside the required parameters set as per the advert.

Namulala indicated that the County Public Service Board (CPSB) of Bungoma was in compliance with the following:

1. Key recruitment features as covered in Sec. 65 of The County Govt. Act:
   • Merit,
   • Fair Competition – special
   • Regional representation / balance

2. Sec. 66 of The County Govt. Act: Advertisement

CPSB of Bungoma on 2nd August, 2024 advertised for 548 Jobs on a six months contract expect ten Nursing Officer posts whose terms was not specified.
