The Ethics and Anti- Corruption Commission (EACC) summons 39 Busia County officials over irregular recruitment of Directors and Deputy Directors by the County Public Service Board (CPSB) of Busia County
Busia Governor, Dr Paul Nyongesa Otuoma on 6th September 2022 sent on compulsory leave the County Secretary, all County Executive Committee Members (CECMs) and Chief Officers as part of restructuring of his government since he assumed office. In August 2023 he reshuffled five of his cabinet members and created one more County Executive Committee Member’s post; ICT, Sustainable Development Goals Mainstreaming and Economic Revitalization.
The Governor then appointed 11 directors to act in place of County Executive Committee Members (CECMs) and Chief Officers (COs) who were sent on compulsory leave.
