Tony Hillary Omondi who has worked with Hon. Didmus Barasa for six months was hit by a double asthma attack on Sunday 30th July 2023 at about 7:30pm. His brother Eston Oduor who has been living with him for three months informs ikuweikuwe.com that he and Tony’s wife successfully tried to resuscitate him using an inhaler.
Tony recovered and could move by himself before retiring to his bedroom to rest but he was hit by a second attack a short while later that prompted his wife and brother to rush him to Kimilili SubCounty Hospital at about 8pm.
At the hospital they found no one at the gate forcing them to open it by themselves and head straight to the registration desk where they met more rude shocks. The literary smiling lady at the front desk directed to go get a stretcher and take their patient to the male general ward where Tony died at about 9:30pm after waiting for a doctor for over one hour without any treatment for it was said that the doctor in-charge wasn’t available.
Tony a first born in a family of four worked with Nation TV (NTV) before joining the Kimilili MP. He leaves behind 3 children and a wife who works at Kimilili boys.
