Dear Sir/Madam,
RE: Save the Children Bungoma Office Closure
I hope this finds you well. Firstly, I would like to express our sincere appreciation for the opportunity to collaborate since 2014 in implementing our programmes in Bungoma
Save the Children set up the Bungoma Office in 2014 to implement a 3year Kenya Health Signature Programme which subsequently led to a second phase award that ran from 2018 until 2021. Through this programme Save the Children and Partners made significant process in the adoption of Kangaroo Mothercare in health facilities in Bungoma and Busia with subsequent adoption in several other countries in Kenya.
Whilst implementing this GSK funded programme we remained hopeful that even as the funding arrangement with GSK came to an end, we would interest other donors to step in. This would have allowed us to sustain the programming in Bungoma and hence keep the office open. Unfortunately at this moment we have been unsuccessful at securing funding and after careful consideration and extensive review have made a decision to close our office in Bungoma.
We would like to express our sincerest gratitude for the support and collaboration we have received from you throughout the duration of our project. The cooperation and assistance provided by the county of Bungoma has been instrumental in the success of the programmes in the county.
Even as we make these changes, we look forward to future opportunities that would bring Save the Children back to Bungoma
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter

~ Yvonne Arunga, County Director ~
