The Secretary/CEO of the County Public Service Board (CPCB) recently published a NOTICE inviting hundreds of shortlisted candidates in the department of Health and Sanitation for interviews to fill 236 vacancies as follows;
“We refer to the advertisement of various positions which appeared in the Standard Newspaper of 17th February and 20th April, 2023 respectively.
All persons shortlisted hereunder are invited for interviews as per the schedule below” read the notice in part
The interviews were scheduled to be conducted from 3rd to 13th July 2023 from 9am for various positions as indicated on the notice but all was not well when the “false judgement day” arrived.
Candidates who had been shortlisted started trickling in prepared as early as 6am taking positions in nearby hotels a safe distance from the Mabanga FTC. A few minutes to 9am the CPSB officials arrived only to be rudely interrupted by the security personnel who informed them that the facility was not open for such an activity.
Upon inquiry they were informed to consult the “high” office. It is at this time that they realized their goose was cooked. They quickly assembled for a rather long consultative and seemingly endless meeting before they finally decided to call off the exercise via text message without necessarily informing the public the reason(s)
That’s where ikuweikuwe.com comes in
ikuweikuwe.com has been reliably informed that the reasons for the botched interviews;
- Realization that some of those who were shortlisted aren’t residents of Bungoma but were coached into picking local wards to qualify
- Corruption is highly suspected after word went round that foreigners and/or unqualified candidates were buying slots
- The CPSB isolated the political class which amounted to an inevitable head-on collusion.
In view of this development ikuweikuwe.com has further learnt that the embattled CPSB stands a chance of being removed from office at anytime thru a vote of no confidence.
