Ford Kenya party leader and Kenya Kwanza Principal Sen. Moses Masika Wetangula has today 23 Feb 2022 received defectors into the lion party in an aspirants meeting held at the Party’s Bungoma County offices. The meeting has been seen widely as a notice to the world of what to expect as the Party prepares to unveil what my rat calls heavyweights sometime next month.
The over 20 defectors include; Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka (in absentia), Hon. Tony Barasa – MCA Lwandanyi ward (JUBILEE), Hon. Nangulu – MCA Namwela Ward (INDEPENDENT), Hon. Simotwo – MCA Chepyuk (JUBILEE), Hon. Jane Chebet – MCA Cheptais ward (JUBILEE), Hillary Chongony – Former DG, Nominated MCA Rebbah (JUBILEE), Fred Wambanda – Kanduyi aspirant (ANC),.. Anaclet Tenge – Kibengei aspirant (JUBILEE) among others
The aspirants who came from all wards resolved that FK as a party must ensure free and fair nominations as they purpose to support winners at the nominations. Led by their Party leader they couldn’t hide their happiness on the announcement that senate Speaker Ken Lusaka who was absent at the function had joined the Party and would therefore be their gubernatorial candidate.

Wetangula took a swipe at President Uhuru for retreating into his tribal backyard (Sagana3), saying a President is above tribe, regional community. The president is the symbol of unity in the Country and therefore it’s unfortunate to see people not advising him properly… He added that Kenyans are uncomfortable with the President retreating into a corner somewhere to talk tribal or regional politics, he has degenerated into a tribal ghetto

“I have told you before that You have only one vote as President Uhuru Kenyatta, give Kenyans an opportunity to decide who’ll succeed you… Do not midwife your successor, because itll fail… It’ll not work. Take an example of Mzee Kibaki who allowed Kenyans to decide who takes over power from him… Also learn from history when Mzee Moi tried imposing you on Kenyans in 2002, you failed with him. You are now going to fail with Raila the same way Moi failed with you… Kenyans are democratic and free and they know who to choose… We are not ready to choose a puppet of a President as a president… We as Ford Kenya and Kenya Kwanza, we want to compete fairly with Raila and Azimio… But we will continue marketing him as your stooge if you continue front him as your successor… You have no constitutional right to impose anyone on Kenyans. Raila has transformed himself from a crusader of people’s rights to a puppet… We want a peaceful election in August… Don’t use public funds to determine your successor. If there exist funds to support candidates, access them to everybody… We will give you the dignity of a retired president, the peace and protection and all privileges your predecessors are enjoying… Just earn them.

The Senator also took a swipe at the government on high cost of living saying the budget must give relief to Kenyans as the govt fights corruption.
“We will improve Ford Kenya within Kenya Kwanza Alliance and will run over DAP-K which is ODM B” said Wetangula

- The fact that a good number of Jubilee MCAs who had previously been leaning towards UDA have chosen to join FK means… FK is harvesting hugely in preparation of bruising battle with DAP-K in Bungoma and TransNzoia.
- Lusaka is said to have send his contribution of Kshs. 100,000.00 towards aspirant’s “lunch” meaning he is in FK to stay.
