A BUNGOMA FATHER SETS A 6-YEAR OLD SON, SELF ON FIRE AFTER HIS KAKAMEGA WIFE FLEES
Sango area in Webuye on September 23, 2020 witnessed a sad incident when Enock Simiyu Indagalasia a father who had just quarreled with his then fleeing wife decided to force Gift his child into drinking petrol then drunk the remainder before setting both on fire badly burning the child, himself and the shop but swift neighbors rescued the two before rushing them to Webuye Hospital where they are currently receiving treatment with the child having sustained 50% burns
The incident happened in their rented semi-permanent shop, Wednesday around 4pm. The wife’s whereabouts is still unknown
Mrs. Carol Buyela, the Director of Special Programs in Bungoma County visited the badly wounded father and his six-year-old child at Webuye County Hospital saying the govt. will come up with a concept on matters domestic violence as she encouraged the public to consider using the area leadership whenever a disagreement threatens to get out of hand.
Records show that in Bungoma domestic violence is highest in Mt. Elgon where most men believe that women must be beaten to create order and respect
