Bungoma County Governor, Wycliffe Wangamati on Thursday, July 09, 2020 invited a few casual employees to a meeting held at the governor’s hall from 10:30 am to 11:00 am. In attendance were; Deputy governor – Prof. Charles Kibanani Ngome, Deputy County secretary, Chief of Staff, PA to the governor and 20 casuals handpicked from each department.
The casuals have gone for a year without pay

- One way – Casuals had zero opportunity to ask questions, raise concerns
- Casuals left with lesser hope of getting paid but happy to receive meeting allowance

It’s unfortunate that Bungoma County has never had bonafide officials for casual employees that’s why they’re suffering quietly otherwise we could have solved this menace long ago. We’ve approached several authorities but our effort has not bored any fruit because of our disunity and mistrust. Unless a miracles happen the issue might never be resolved, that’s the truth of the matter
A whole County CEO invited us for a meeting to tell us they there is no budget for casuals…
Just realized we also have very weak casual’s officials… governor ‘bribed’ each Kshs. 2,000 in the name of allowances after telling us our salaries/wages have not been budgeted for but asked us to wait till Aug. Instead of officials (handpicked) demanding for the list of casuals the County govt. is using to budget and by extension a commitment letter from the government that they’ll pay us… they walked away excited and blinded by the Kshs. 2,000 they’d pocketed… nkt… that meeting really annoyed me
A whole County CEO invited us for a meeting to tell us they there was no budget for casuals, we will have to wait until 2020/1 main budget for our contracts to be reconsidere. He said that he just did us a favor of not sacking us last year Feb forgetting that he found us in the system when he took over power. Sometimes just being a tumbocract is very dangerous of which we are making sure one day our justice will prevail in Bungoma County regardless of the numerous sabotage. very useless governor… NKT…!
Am feel the both the court and the worker’s union have been unable to deliver justice since January.

About the county appealing the court order; He pretended to be in a hurry such that he just cut short our meeting used about 20 min… he only addressed us on budget and confusion on list and left.
